Our story begins 1978 Nov 15th (Beaujolais nouveau'day).

Mike & Karen Plunkett open "chez vins bistro", the regions first wine bar.  To immediate critical acclaim with 52 wines by the glass, visitors came from far & wide for what was then a limited bistro menu and warm & romantic atmosphere.

1986 the wine bar would expand next door to what had been an old hardware store, leaving as much of old the character as permitted.  With that, a name change, & birth of Plunkett's Bar & Grill.

A larger menu to reflect the times, some bistro favorites plus a wide selection of imported draught beers; This move once again generated public interest & favorable critique.

1994 again an expansion & this Time, a major renovation. New look, new horseshoe bar, new attitude.

2000, today Plunkett's offers a diverse menu to suit most tastes in an atmosphere of casual sophistication, catering as much to suits as leather jackets. (Cool patio in season)
